We respect your privacy and protect your personal information. This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which BOS Plumbing collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the website (“Site”)

We may collect the following information: 

• Contact & job details: name, phone, email, service/property address, job notes.
• Payment & receipts: invoices, receipts, payment method (we do not store full credit card numbers).
• Job media: photos and short videos taken before/during/after work for 

documentation, warranty records, quality control, training, and marketing. 

• Communications: call, text, email records related to scheduling, estimates, and follow ups. 
• Employee/contractor information: names, certification/license info and payroll records as required. 

How we use your information: 

We use your information to deliver and improve plumbing services; prepare invoices and tax records; support warranties; investigate or resolve complaints or insurance claims; obtain permits or inspections when required; and, with your consent, for marketing. We do not sell your personal information. 

Photos, videos & social media (marketing): 

We may take photos and short videos on site for documentation and for BOS Plumbing social media/marketing. We will make reasonable efforts not to show your address, house numbers, street signs, neighbours, or other identifying details in any public content. 

If you do not consent to marketing use of media from this job, tell our technician before work begins or initial the opt-out box on the job sheet and we will not publish photos/videos from that visit. We may still take internal documentation photos for warranty and dispute records. 

If you provide CCTV/doorbell footage to assist an investigation, we will use it only for that purpose and retain it only as required to resolve the issue. 

Who we may share information with: 

We may share limited information with: subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors (only what’s necessary to complete the job); insurers or legal advisors if needed for a claim; municipal authorities for permits or inspections; and our accountants for tax compliance. All third parties are required to protect personal information. 

Retention & Security: 

• Invoices, receipts & tax records: kept up to 7.
• Job files, photos & reports: kept for the warranty period plus reasonable buffer (typically 2–7 years).

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect information (restricted access, encrypted backups, secure cloud storage, locked physical files). No system is perfect—if a breach occurs we will follow legal requirements for notification and remediation. 

Your rights & choices: 

• Ask for access to the personal information we hold about you. 
• Request correction of inaccurate information. 
• Withdraw consent for marketing or request that we stop using specific photos/videos in marketing. (Some records must be kept for legal or tax reasons.) 
• Request deletion in limited circumstances, note that we may retain records as required by law.

If you ask us to remove published marketing media showing you or your property, we will take reasonable steps to remove it from our platforms; removal may be subject to technical or contractual limits (e.g., cached copies). 

CCTV & third-party footage: 

If we operate CCTV (rare) we will post notice. If you provide footage (doorbell/CCTV) we will only view and use it for the stated purpose and retain it only as necessary. 

BOS Plumbing Fees: 

Fixed service fee & invoices: 

We charge a fixed Service Fee for call-outs/diagnostics. The Service Fee will be shown clearly on estimates and invoices as “Service Fee.” All payments are recorded and you will receive a receipt for every payment, including cash. 

BOS Plumbing Warranty: 

Warranty of Service & Parts: 

If a defect in workmanship arises during the warranty period and is reported according to our claim procedure, we will, at our discretion, repair the defective workmanship at no additional 

labour charge. 

Parts warranty: Parts and materials installed are covered by the manufacturers’ warranties where available. BOS Plumbing will assist in making a manufacturer warranty claim, but the duration and scope of parts coverage are set by the manufacturer and not by BOS Plumbing unless otherwise stated in writing. 

This warranty does not cover the following: 

• Pre-existing conditions, concealed defects, or issues unrelated to the

specific work performed. 

• Damage or failure caused by misuse, neglect, lack of maintenance, freezing, extreme weather, vandalism, or third-party work. 
• Cosmetic issues that do not affect function. 
• Any damage arising from improper use or modification by the Customer or others. 
• Normal wear and tear. 

Voiding the Warranty: 

Warranty is void if the Customer or anyone other than BOS Plumbing or an authorized service provider tampers with, modifies, or repairs the covered work without BOS Plumbing’s written approval. 

How to make a warranty claim: 

1. Provide written notice to BOS Plumbing at [email protected] or call 905-247-5745 within 30 days of discovering the issue (sooner is better). Include your name, address, invoice number, a short description of the issue, and photos/videos if available. 
2. Allow BOS Plumbing reasonable access and time to inspect the issue and investigate. 
3. If the claim is valid, BOS Plumbing will arrange repair or replacement as appropriate. If a manufacturer part is defective, BOS Plumbing will assist with the warranty claim process and coordinate any required parts replacement. 

Remedy & Limitation: BOS Plumbing’s obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the defective workmanship or parts (if covered by manufacturer warranty). To the extent permitted by law, BOS Plumbing’s total liability for claims related to the warranted work is limited to the amount paid for that specific job. This warranty does not limit your statutory consumer rights.
