GTA's Go-To Plumbing Company for Commercial Toilet Installation & Replacement

A restroom that is backed up in the restaurant. Flashing toilet in a busy office. A leaky commode in a health care facility. All of these are not insignificant issues; they close things down, cause customers to be irritated and, in some cases, they cause health code flags.

For more than 20 years BOS Plumbing & Drains has been installing and repairing commercial toilets in the GTA. We understand commercial fixtures’ requirements and how to tell the difference between a rushed job and one that will stand up to daily use.

If you’re searching for toilet installation near me or need a licensed plumber for toilet repair in Mississauga, Oakville, Hamilton, Brampton, Milton, Cambridge, or Niagara  you’ve found the right team.

What Does a Commercial Toilet Installation Actually Involve?

It’s not a Saturday afternoon homeowner swap-out. The installation of a commercial toilet bowl is more complicated and more significant.

The following are some of the projects our licensed plumbers are able to work on for your business:

  • Full shut-off and drainage of the existing plumbing system before any fixture is removed
  • Inspection of the floor flange, sub-floor, and drain line before the new unit goes in
  • Replacing the wax ring on the toilet (or a heavy-duty gasket for floor-mounted commercial units)
  • Torque-balanced bolt tightening to prevent cracking the base  a common mistake on DIY or rushed jobs
  • Water supply line connection and pressure testing
  • Flush testing at full capacity to confirm no leaks at the base, tank, or supply line

We will not consider it done until we have performed several flush cycles, and checked all the connection points. One of those 10 minutes has averted a lot of business owners from a call on the wet floor at 2 a.m.

Commercial Toilet Types We Install

Not all commercial properties are the same size and need the same kind of toilet. The fixture you need will be determined by the traffic, water pressure, accessibility needs, and the layout of your building. BOS Plumbing & Drains is a commercial toilet system installer and replacement company all throughout the GTA.

Floor-Mounted Commercial Toilets

The most popular choice for offices, retail stores, schools and restaurants. They are long-lasting and easy to maintain, suitable for high traffic areas and usage per day.

Wall-Hung Toilets

Wall mounted toilets are commonplace in today’s commercial washrooms and help to give them a cleaner look while simplifying floor cleaning. Installation must be in secure carrier systems and behind the wall.

Flushometer Toilets

Often in restaurants, offices, shops and places like the public. These types of tankless systems deliver strong flushing performance and have been constructed for heavy traffic in the course of the day.

Pressure-Assisted Toilets

For commercial use, where higher flushing power is needed. These units are used to prevent reoccurring problems such as backups and enhance the performance of the restroom.

ADA-Compliant & Accessible Toilets

We install commercial toilets with accessibility, which helps businesses develop safe and comfortable washrooms for every customer and staff member.

High-Efficiency & Water-Saving Toilets

Commercial toilets with low water use are designed to be just as efficient as their higher-flow counterparts but use less water, which can improve sustainability initiatives and save money for businesses.

Why Commercial Fixtures Are a Different Animal

People generally don’t know that the construction of commercial toilets is different from residential ones. A busy facility can process 200-400 “flushes” per day with commercial units. They require the same plumbing load.

Installing wall-hung toilets means proper use of carrier frames, which must be bolted in structural walls rather than drywall. The flushometer type (which does not feature a tank, as found in office buildings and restaurants) requires a certain water pressure to function properly. Or else you will have to face a clogged commode scenario weekly otherwise.

There are different rough-in dimensions for commercial toilets and toilets for home use. We don’t assume, we measure it, then confirm it and fit the measurement.

If the facility is an older building, it is likely that the old drain line will not be aligned in the middle of the new drain line. We flag it before not after our plumbers set it up.

Commercial Toilet Services We Handle

New Toilet Installations: If you are new building, renovating a commercial bathroom or replacing old fixtures, we can do full new toilet installations from selection advice to final pressure testing.

Toilet Replacement: If the toilet is leaking try replacing it. Cracked bowl? Running constantly? We replace toilets in commercial buildings regularly, such as: offices, restaurants, retail, medical buildings, property management portfolios, all across the GTA.

Flushing Valve Replacement: Thousands of litres of water are lost each month because of a failed flush valve. Flush valve replacement on commercial flushometers is one of the more common calls we get. Parts are available for Sloan, Zurn and American Standard units.

Tank toilet repair: In case of a commercial toilet with a tank, the most probable causes of toilet tank repair are a broken fill valve or a cracked flapper or a broken float assembly. Not only will we diagnose the real issue but we also provide a full replacement when a simple $40 component will suffice.

Wax Ring & Seal Replacement: A toilet that wobbles a little at the base of its chair, is a toilet that’s on its way to a sewage leak. A wax ring replacement for a toilet is much more cost effective than removal of a compromised subfloor.

Toilet Leak Repair: From a leaking base (usually the wax ring), and/or leaky supply line to a crack in the porcelain. We locate it, we repair it, we write it down. That paper trail is important to the property manager and commercial landlord.

Diaphragm of Toilet Flush Valve (Flushometer): Most facility managers expect the diaphragm in a commercial flushometer to last a long time but it doesn’t. In most cases, a flush valve repair will remedy the issue if your unit flushes for too long after each use or if it is not flushing completely.

Bidet Installation: More commercial spaces particularly upscale restaurants, wellness centres, and medical offices are adding bidet installation to their washrooms. We sell stand-alone bidet units and can provide you with add-on bidet seat attachments. In a commercial building, it’s important to check the water pressure compatibility and the water supply line capacity before connecting a bidet to a toilet.

Clogged Toilet Repair: A clogged toilet in the commercial area can’t be delayed. Whether it’s an unclogged toilet problem or a more serious blockage that can only be addressed with “hydro jetting” of the drain line, we get there in no time.

How Much Does Commercial Toilet Installation Cost?

There is no one-size-fits-all here and any plumber that quotes without inspection is merely just guessing. Toilet installation cost varies based on:

  • The type of fixture (tank-style vs. flushometer vs. wall-hung)
  • Whether the existing flange and drain line are in good condition
  • Whether this is a straight swap or involves rough-in modifications
  • How many units you’re having installed in one visit

The cost of a new toilet installation on a single, good quality toilet is less than a full rough-in. For multi-unit commercial projects, a project rate is used for pricing, per fix basis. No hidden charges on the bill, we’re honest about the price before we begin working.

Give us a call and we will give you an accurate toilet installation cost estimate for your actual space.

Who Calls BOS Plumbing for Commercial Toilet Work?

Property managers, who manage multiple commercial tenants, throughout Mississauga, Oakville and the GTA. Brampton and Hamilton restaurant owners who don’t have the luxury of a washroom being unavailable at dine-in times. Commercial plumbers in Milton and Cambridge are required for everyone who manages office buildings to get licensed commercial plumbing work done and have it recorded for building inspectors.

This includes hospitals, schools, stores, gyms and factories! The types of fixtures vary. The standards that we set for ourselves do not.

Industries We Serve

The toilet installation and repair stipulations are different in various industries. Different facilities have varying needs when it comes to plumbing. We have worked in every type of commercial environment, having served for over 20 years, companies throughout the GTA.

Our commercial toilet services are trusted at office buildings, restaurants, retail stores, medical and dental clinics, schools, daycares, fitness centres, hotels and motels, warehouses, industrial facilities, property management companies, condominium corporations and multi-tenant commercial buildings. From replacing a single toilet to a complete washroom remodel, we are up for the challenge.

Brands We Install & Repair

We have the most trusted manufacturers of the industry and our commercial plumbers work with them. From replacement of old fixtures to repair of flushing valves, or entire washroom upgrades, we can service and install commercial plumbing brands equipment.

Regularly work with Sloan, Zurn, American Standard, Kohler, TOTO, Gerber, Mansfield, Delta Commercial, Crane and other commercial fixture manufacturers. If your building is already fitted with a particular brand, we will recommend compatible replacement parts and fixtures where possible, to keep replacement costs to a minimum and help minimize downtime.

Is There a Difference Between a Plumber for Clogged Toilet and a Commercial Plumber?

Good question. Any licensed plumber is able to unclog a residential drain. However, a plumber for clogged toilets in a business building should know how to configure commercial drain stacks, what building water pressure requirements are, and the nature of the blockage, whether it’s localized or widespread.

A situation where the washroom clogs in one storey of an office building will be different from a high-rise building with 8 floors sharing a common drain stack. BOS Plumbing & Drains are commercial plumbing experts and not merely the fixture in front of them.
