Kitchen Faucet Installation & Replacement Services in GTA & Surrounding Areas

Your kitchen faucet is likely to be the most-worked fixture in your home. Cooking, cleaning hands, washing and drying dishes, filling pots, washing vegetables and fruits. It runs dozens of times a day! When it begins to drip, rust and corrode or loses pressure, or simply appears to be 10 years old, you don’t want a fast fix. You would like it to be sorted right.

For more than 20 years, BOS Plumbing and Drains have been doing just that. Homeowners in Oakville, Mississauga, Hamilton, Brampton, Milton, Cambridge, Niagara and the G.T.A. trust us to do kitchen plumbing repairs and faucet installation and replacement, without the guesswork and runaround!

Is It Time To Replace Your Kitchen Faucet? Here's How To Tell

Many homeowners delay the replacement of a kitchen faucet long beyond the time it should be replaced. It’s either because they believe it’s complicated or because they assume the cost of installing a kitchen faucet will be greater than it is.

These are the warning signs that it’s time to put the waiting to the side:

  • Constant dripping even after you’ve tightened the handle
  • Visible rust, mineral buildup, or corrosion around the base
  • Low water pressure that cleaning the aerator doesn’t fix
  • A wobbling or loose faucet body
  • Squealing or grinding when you turn the tap
  • Water pooling under the sink after every use

Any of these should suffice to get the attention of a licensed residential plumber. A dripping faucet can steal moisture from the cabinet under your sink, bend wood and let mold into the walls of your kitchen. It’s a lot more expensive than the faucet replacement.

What Does Kitchen Faucet Installation Actually Involve?

Changing a kitchen faucet seems like a straightforward task. Occasionally it is. But, it is subject to the kind of project you’re handling.

Older homes in the GTA or Hamilton may also have corroded shutoff valves that become harder to move when you try to shut them off. There can be a brittle supply line. You may need an escutcheon plate or deck adapter to get the hole pattern in the sink to line up with your new faucet. If you have a kitchen sink clogged or a kitchen drain clogged, you will need to get it unclogged before you install the new faucet.

Our plumbers evaluate all things before putting their hands on a wrench. We check:

  • Shutoff valve condition (and replace them if needed)
  • Supply line integrity
  • Sink deck hole size and configuration
  • Under-sink drainage and trap condition
  • Water pressure at the source

For the kitchen the faucet must be installed correctly: when we leave, it must be a tight fit and not leaking into the room.

Every Faucet Type, Every Brand We Install Them All

We install every kind of faucet you purchase – including pull-out faucets from Home Depot and touch-activated Moen from specialty suppliers. We have some of the top style specialists on our team, who are able to work with all major styles:

The most popular faucet requests are for single-handle kitchen faucets. Both temperature and flow are controlled by one lever. Minimal, clean and easy to use, with both hands.

Pull-out and pull-down faucets require a little extra attention when installing because the spray hose goes through the faucet and into the cabinet. When improperly performed, the snags on the supply lines don’t hang properly, or the counterweight fails to hang correctly. We know the drill.

Double-handle faucets provide more control over water temperature and will look great in traditional or farmhouse kitchen design. The installation requires two valve bodies to be seated in the right place, and to not overheat when a cold valve is required.

Bridge faucets are laid on a clearly visible bridge between two separate handles. They’re designed more in the manner of architecture than function, but they’re sharp looking. They also need to be carefully measured to fit with your sink’s hole spacing.

Faucets are also available in a high arc, with a spring spout, and are commonly used in larger kitchens. These require proper clearance over the sink and have to be securely mounted with the extra torque on the base.

And to those who have a home filter or an instant hot water dispenser, we can do multi-hole kitchen sink plumbing, while seamlessly incorporating all these into your home.

Some of the brands with which we work regularly are Moen, Kohler, Delta, Grohe, American Standard, Pfister, Brizo and others! If you purchased a sink faucet for your kitchen sink, we can install it.

What Does It Cost To Install A Kitchen Faucet?

The price to install a kitchen faucet depends on a number of factors, such as location, the complexity of the plumbing in place, if any, the replacement of supply lines and/or shut-off valves, and the type of faucet.

The cost of a kitchen tap installation in a simple kitchen in a modern house with adequate access is generally in line with people’s expectations. The work that costs is the bottom parts or the corroded shutoffs, cramped cabinet space, older galvanized supply lines or the kitchen drain clogged that needs to be unclogged prior to the install.

You will receive a definite estimate before any work is started. No vague estimates. No hidden charges on the bill!

Replacing A Kitchen Sink Faucet: What To Expect On The Day

A kitchen faucet replacement appointment is typically like this when you book it with us.

We have our plumber come within the time frame that is specified, not “sometime between 8am and 6pm”. They quickly inspect the shutoffs, supply lines, and the drains before anything is turned off, checking for any conditions.

They inform you of anything you need to know prior to starting the work. Upfront.

They then take the old kitchen faucet out and replace it with the new faucet: shut off the water supply, disconnect all water lines, remove the old faucet, clean off the kitchen faucet area, install the new faucet using the proper hardware for the type of kitchen faucet and sink, reconnect all water lines, and test them all with a dry-wipe test.

You’ll see it work before they go! Pressure checks out. No drips. The cabinet is dry.

In most cases, the job will only take 1-2 hours. Longer if there are complications (which we discuss with you prior to the start).

Have Questions About Your Kitchen Faucet Or Plumbing? We Have Answers.

  1. Can I supply my own faucet?

Yes. Buy whatever you want and we’ll install it, as long as it’s compatible with your sink configuration. If you’re not sure what to buy, we can advise you before your appointment.

  1. What if the shutoff valve won’t close properly?

It’s common. Our plumbers carry replacement shutoff valves and supply lines on the truck. If yours needs replacing, we’ll quote it on the spot and handle it the same visit.

  1. Does changing a faucet fix low water pressure?

Sometimes. A clogged aerator or old faucet cartridge can restrict flow. If the pressure issue is at the faucet itself, a replacement solves it. If it’s a house-wide pressure problem, we diagnose that separately.

  1. Do you handle the drain work too?

Yes. If you’ve got a kitchen sink clogged or a slow drain, we clear it as part of the appointment or schedule it alongside the faucet install. Kitchen drain clogged jobs are one of our most common service calls across Mississauga, Brampton, and Hamilton.

  1. What about after hours?

We offer after hours plumbing and plumbing emergency repair across the full GTA and our surrounding service areas. Call us and we’ll get someone to you.
