Bidet Installation Services Across the GTA | Licensed Plumbers Near You

Increasingly more Canadians are choosing to replace their bathrooms with a bidet. Better hygiene. Less toilet paper. A bathroom experience that truly is modern. However, to get it installed properly? The majority of DIY efforts go awry there.

For more than 20 years BOS Plumbing & Drains have been installing bidets in Mississauga, Oakville, Hamilton, Brampton, Milton, Niagara, Cambridge and throughout the GTA. We have encountered all of the toilet configurations, all of the water pressure issues and all the “should have been easy” toilet seats. We correct the things that others do incorrectly.

Why Bidet Installation Isn't a DIY Job (Even When It Looks Like One)

The majority of the bidets appear to be plug and play. Some are. A well-installed bidet, however, which connects to your current plumbing is another matter.

The water supply line must be properly turned off, checked and reconnected to the water without leaking. The T-valve connection might cause stress on already worn fittings if the toilet bowl installation is older. Older homes in older neighbourhoods of the GTA may have lines that have not been replaced in 30+ years. If it’s not a spa bathroom, it’s water damage.

The entire job is carried out by a licensed plumber who does everything properly: supply shutoff, fitting T-valve, mounting seats, checking electrical (when you’ve opted for a heated / electric) and a comprehensive pressure test before they leave.

These are the things that you get with BOS.

What Type of Bidet Are You Installing?

Which installation style is determined on the basis of the chosen style. Here are some of the things we use on a frequent basis:

Bidet toilet seats (the most popular) are the complete replacement of the same toilet seat. They include a T-valve to attach to the existing water supply. Most are non-electric. Others have heated seats, warm water and air dryers, which must be plugged into a GFCI protected outlet.

Bidet attachments are placed under your current seat. They’re the least expensive choice. This method for attaching a shower to a toilet is easy, but water connections are still important. A loose fitting will leak.

Handheld bidet sprayers attach to the side of the toilet box. Easy installation – complete manual control. Ideal for short term rentals and low budgets.

Stand alone bidet fixtures are a complete separate porcelain fixture next to the toilet. These are equipped with special cold and hot water lines and a special drain. Not all bathrooms are able to mount this, but we can do an honest evaluation of your bathroom.

Smart toilet bowls (all-in-one units such as TOTO Washlets) are the complete toilet bowl installation systems and they have integrated bidet systems. These are an entire toilet and installation project, and require both plumbing and electrical rough-in. We do both.

Benefits of Installing a Bidet

A bidet is more than just a bathroom upgrade. A very practical thing that adds comfort, cleanliness and convenience to our daily lives.

There are several advantages to installing a bidet:

  • Improved personal hygiene compared to toilet paper alone
  • Reduced toilet paper consumption and household waste
  • Greater comfort for seniors and individuals with mobility limitations
  • A cleaner, more modern bathroom experience
  • Reduced environmental impact through lower paper usage
  • Adjustable water pressure and washing options for personalized comfort
  • Added value and appeal during bathroom renovations
  • Enhanced convenience with heated seats, warm water, and drying features available on smart models

A professionally fitted bidet will offer years of comfort and convenience for the family bathroom, master bathroom or modernising the commercial washroom.

How We Handle Your Bidet Installation: Step by Step

We don’t complicate the process. Now what happens when the plumber from the BOS comes to your door:

  1. Assessment of your existing plumbing system: We inspect your water pressure, supply line condition and the age of your toilet(s). Sometimes older toilets may require a commode installation replacement at the same time, and we will let you know of that beforehand, not at the end.
  2. Water shutoff and line prep: Turning off the water supply valve, draining the tank and examining the shutoff valve. If it has been seized or corroded (typical on older and Hamilton homes) it’s replaced first.
  3. T-valve and seat installation: The T-adapter provides the choice for water to be taken to both the toilet tank and the bidet. We install it properly, confirm the seating washer and install your bidet unit as per manufacturer’s specifications.
  4. Electrical check (where applicable): If the bidet seat is electric, there should be a GFCI protected outlet easily accessible. If there is not a licensed electrician nearby, we will be able to arrange with a licensed electrician, or give you advice about where to find one.
  5. Full pressure test and cleanup: We turn on all faucets, pressure test all connections, ensure the bidet is working properly and clean up before we go. No puddles and no secret drips found 3 days later.

Do You Need a Plumber to Attach a Bidet to a Toilet?

In fact, some attachments are made to be installed by homeowners. However, self-installed toilets with a toilet attachment come with potential risks if:

  • Your shutoff valve is old and doesn’t fully close
  • Your supply line is braided steel near the end of its life
  • You’re working with a wall-mounted toilet
  • The bidet requires an electrical connection
  • Your water pressure is already running high

If any of these are true, then it is time to call in a licensed plumber from BOS. We’ve fixed many water damaged floors following someone doing it themselves and installing a bidet the proper way. We know the worth of doing it right.

Bidet Installation for Commercial Properties

Bidet style fixtures are being installed in washrooms throughout the GTA, in office buildings, restaurants, medical offices and hotels. It helps save on paper waste, lowers the cost of ongoing supplies and improves the client and employee experience.

We have a commercial plumbing team to manage volume installations, code compliant plumbing system tie-ins and scheduled work without disruption to your operations. We have been involved in a variety of projects, large and small, working with property managers and facilities teams across Mississauga, Oakville and Hamilton.

What Does Bidet Installation Cost in the GTA?

Simple answer: It depends on the type of new plumbing you’re installing and the condition of your current plumbing.

At the lower end, a basic toilet using a bidet attachment or a newer toilet with a working shutoff valve is in use.At the bottom, a basic toilet with a toilet bidet attachment or a newer toilet with a working shut-off valve is used. A smart toilet full toilet installation with electrical work comes with some more variables and is a larger job.

What BOS will always do: provide you with a definite estimate prior to beginning work. Free fittings. No hidden or unexpected labour costs at the closing. If we discover any unexpected situation during the job (such as a corroded shutoff valve) we tell you and ask you before moving on.

Give us a call for a no-nonsense quote on the price of your particular project.

Why GTA Homeowners Choose BOS Plumbing & Drains

If you’re over twenty years of house plumbing experience in the GTA, you don’t get that accomplished without doing some good work. We are building our reputation, one job at a time in Mississauga, Oakville, Hamilton and Brampton.

Brands We Install

Leading brands of bidets such as TOTO Washlet, Bio Bidet, Brondell, Kohler, American Standard, Luxe Bidet, VOVO, Alpha Bidet, Moen and Coway are installed and serviced regularly. With a basic non-electric seat or a complete integrated smart toilet unit which provides heated water, air drying and remote control, our licensed plumbers install it to manufacturer standards and local plumbing codes.

These are the most common things that your customers say:

“When they said that, they came,” they said. Many plumbers’ service companies make the mistake of scheduling. We don’t take that lightly.

They didn’t try to sell me anything that I didn’t require. If the toilet is OK we will say so. If it’s necessary to replace the shutoff valve prior to a safe bidet installation, we’ll explain why.

They told him/her what they were doing. Our plumbing contractors consider your home plumbing an investment. Before the door’s slammed, you’ll be aware of what was done and why.

We also provide plumbing repair, drainage services and full household plumbing services beyond bidet installation services. If there is something else wrong in your bathroom when we’re there, we can check it out.
