24/7 Commercial Toilet Repair Services Across the GTA

If a toilet breaks in a commercial property, it’s no small matter. One clogged commode in your restaurant bathroom sends customers back to their tables talking about it. When your office building has a toilet leak, water damage costs in the hundreds are incurred before the plumber is called. And a flush valve which won’t shut off? Which means your water bill will be rising during this wait.

For more than 20 years, BOS Plumbing & Drains have performed commercial toilet repair in the Greater Toronto Area. When things go wrong with your plumbing, we understand what’s important, and we’re here to fix it, not spend three days looking at your problem and then presenting you with a quote.

Why Commercial Toilets Fail Faster Than Residential Ones

Commercial toilets endure a lot of beating. A single unit may be used to accommodate 200+ flushing restaurant patrons per day. High traffic bathrooms are used in the office without breaks between 8AM-6PM. No one can afford to have one unit out of service for a hotel or medical facility.

Mechanics are more prone to wearing down. Flush valves do not seal or stay open. The continuous pressure cycling is replaced by wax rings. Float assemblies crack. The corrosive effect of the mineral content in water on toilet tank components. Fill in leaks in supply lines at the fittings.

Most of these repairs appear to be easy to do. In a commercial space, however, “simple” translates to: getting it done right the first time, with parts that are performance rated for commercial application, in a schedule that doesn’t shut down your business for 50% of the day.

The difference between residential plumber and commercial plumber. BOS Plumbing services commercial clients daily all over Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Hamilton, Milton, Cambridge and the Niagara region. We stock the parts. We know the code and building regulations. We’ve encountered this issue with all the versions.

What Does Commercial Toilet Repair Actually Cover?

Clogged Toilet Fix & Drain Clearing

A clogged toilet in a commercial building may not be what it appears! At times, it could be a clog in the drain trap. Sometimes it’s a more serious line problem that is backing up into several fixtures. We don’t simply snake the bowl and get out, we go to the bottom of the problem and find out what it is.

One of the most frequent commercial service requests is a call for a plumber for a clogged toilet. If the blockage happens again, then it’s a clue that something is going on, and we’ll tell you what it is, straight away.

Flush Valve Replacement & Tank Repair

One of the most frequent commercial toilet repairs we perform at our business is the replacement of a flushed valve. The valve is the part which allows water to flow out of the tank to the bowl each time you flush. In high volume commercial units, these wear out, and either do not flush completely or they run continuously, wasting a lot of water.

Toilet tank repair includes all the contents of the tank including the fill valve, flapper, overflow tube, supply line connection. These aren’t the pretty bits. However, in a 10-stall restroom, when one fails, a diagnosis in minutes (not hours) is required.

Toilet Leak Repair

The type of toilet leak repair is from slow leakage at the base (typically due to a broken wax ring) to a leaky spray at the supply line fitting. They both must be repaired on the day they’re discovered.

Replacing the wax ring on a toilet is a seemingly simple task that involves removing the toilet, re-leveling it and retightening it. If it’s done incorrectly, it will leak again in a couple of weeks. Before we leave we pull it, reset it and test it.

Toilet Replacement & New Toilet Installation

Sometimes ‘repair’ is not the solution. Toilet replacement – if the toilet is cracked, damaged, or too old (older low-efficient toilets use far more water than are allowed under the current standards in Ontario), it’s better to replace the toilet in the long run.

If you want to have a new toilet installed in a commercial building, you should also select the appropriate unit. The type of toilet that is installed on the wall, floor, is pressure-assisted or has ADA compliance will depend on your type of facility. We will let you know what would make sense for the space, volume and budget.

The toilet installation cost in a commercial facility depends on the model of toilet, existing rough-in size, and if any modifications must be made to the subfloor or drain. BOS provides you with a clear number prior to any work begins.

Commode Installation for Renovations & New Builds

If you’re renovating a commercial bathroom or adding facilities to an existing space, commode installation has to be done to Ontario Building Code. The rough-in distance, height of the flange, venting and water pressure must be correct. We have installed toilets throughout the GTA in restaurants, warehouses, office towers and medical buildings. Work is performed on code, inspected then done once.

Bidet Attachment & Fixture Upgrades

Hotels, in particular, and medical offices have been asking for bidet attachments to the toilet as part of their bathroom renovations, with more commercial facilities opting for the same. Bidet installation can be done in conjunction with toilet work; no need to hire a separate installer.

What About Emergency Calls?

Does BOS Plumbing Offer 24-Hour Emergency Plumbing for Commercial Clients?

Yes. A toilet backup or clogged commode that is creating a bathroom situation that is flooding doesn’t wait until 9 AM. BOS Plumbing is a 24 hour plumber service for commercial properties throughout the GTA: Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Hamilton, Milton, Cambridge and the Niagara region.

After hours phone calls get a real technician to come to work and not a voicemail and a callback 3 hours later. Commercial emergencies are regarded as emergencies.

The Real Cost of Waiting on a Toilet Repair

A bathroom is still “technically usable” and this is why building managers delay plumbing repair calls. One of the toilets is blocked but the rest are fine. The tank is on and so is the flush.

What this delay comes down to:

With a leaking valve the waste can be either 20 litres an hour or 200 litres an hour if the valve is leaking. That can cost you a lot of water bills in a commercial unit, on a municipal metered connection. If the problem is a leaky toilet at the bottom, you may find yourself with a leaky floor in a matter of days and a $150.00 replacement for the wax ring becomes a $2000.00 (or more) repair job on the floor.

When a health inspector comes in when a bathroom is out of service or it has a visible leak? That’s a whole other story.

Rapid toilet repair is almost always less expensive than eventual repair. Not a sales pitch! It’s plumbing, that’s how it works!

What Sets BOS Apart From Other Commercial Plumbing Companies?

20+ Years Working Commercial Plumbing Systems

Residential plumbers will be able to repair a house toilet. This is not true for commercial plumbing systems. Pressure-assisted flush mechanisms. Wall-mounted carriers. ADA compliance specs. High-efficiency (4.8 LPF–litres per flush) units in accordance with Ontario requirements. Installing back-to-back banks in multi-stall restrooms.

BOS Plumbing company – The BOS technicians have been servicing these systems for more than 20 years. That experience equates to quicker diagnosis, less return visits, and repairs that will last with daily commercial volume.

Transparent Pricing Before Work Starts

When the job begins, a business owner should have a concrete answer for the following questions: toilet replacement cost and toilet installation cost. We provide you with a definite price. No “we’ll see what we find” open ended billing.

Licensed, Insured, Code-Compliant

All work BOS Plumbing does complies with the Ontario Building Code. That’s important to any commercial client if your premises are subject to the inspection, insurance and/or lease requirements of any tenant and require licensed plumbing repair services.

No Upselling. Just Honest Assessment

If the toilet requires a flush valve replacement, we replace the flush valve. We’ll be honest with you, with facts, not pressure, if a complete toilet replacement is more appropriate based on the unit’s condition and age. You decide.

Typical single unit repair time is 45 minutes to 2 hours based on the problem(s). The wax ring replacement on a toilet or replacement of a flush valve are normally less than 90 minutes. Replacing a toilet takes about 2 to 3 hours when the existing rough in plumbing is in good condition.

3. Can You Work Around Our Business Hours?

We offer early morning, evening, and weekend scheduling for commercial clients who can’t have plumbing work disrupt peak hours. Call us to discuss what works.

4. What Brands and Parts Do You Work With?

We have a selection of commercial grade manufacturers such as American Standard, Sloan, Kohler, Toto and Mansfield pressure assisted units, flushometer systems and tank type units. We have no tie-up with any individual supplier thus you get the correct part for your particular unit.
